I love when I can make our food from scratch versus buying it prepackaged from the grocery store. This way, I know exactly what’s in it. No hidden ingredients. Nothing extra. Just real, whole food ingredients.
This chia berry jam recipe is one that I whip up a couple times a month. We love to put it on our waffles, toast or pancakes. It’s simple, easy and will last for about a week in the fridge after you make it.
Chia Berry Jam
- 2 cups frozen berries
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup chia seed
Cook frozen berries and water on medium high heat until the berries have thawed and warmed. Turn heat down to low and add maple syrup and chia seeds. Let simmer for 15 minutes until it becomes a jam-like consistency.
