Though the world feels heavy right now, today is a day that I have been anxiously awaiting.
I have been working on perfecting the new website for many months now and it has finally come to fruition. I thought it would be fun to relaunch the blog with our very exciting news…
We are expecting another sweet baby girl in early November!
In a word, this pregnancy has been… different. We found out we were pregnant on March 6, which was exactly one week before the world went on lockdown and fears of the Coronavirus started to become very real. Instead of feeling the overwhelming excitement of being pregnant again, my mind was very much consumed by the current events and protecting myself and my family’s health from the unknown. The doctors appointments have been masked, gloved and by myself. The first trimester was a lot harder than I remember it being with Eloise. Maybe that’s because I’ve been working from home and also being a full-time mama, dishwasher, chef, laundromat all while battling the first trimester nausea, constant fatigue and ZERO energy. Not to mention, being isolated from my family and friends during this time has been so hard. My husband, being a farmer, has also been an essential worker and continued on with his normal 7 days a week work schedule. Those early weeks felt lonely, scary and just so uncertain.
BUT with all of that said, being pregnant has been the biggest blessing during such uncertain times. It’s kept me moving forward, kept me feeling grateful and has been something to look forward to – from the first ultrasound to the simple gender reveal with Luke & Ellie to sharing the news with family & friends.
We could not be more excited for this next chapter as a family of 4. As an only child myself, I always knew I wanted a bigger family. I can’t wait to see Eloise interact with her little sister.
Life just keeps getting sweeter.
